About Diana

Diana Hochman was born in Los Angeles, CA on October 24, 1972, the only child of her parents union. She was baptized a Roman Catholic in infancy, but later converted to Judaism as an adult. Diana is of largely European descent, mostly Spanish and Portuguese. She grew up in Hispanic culture in an English-speaking home. Though she learned Spanish in school, at church and also from listening to her father.

Diana's mother fell victim to homicide when she was 2 years old. She lived with her father for seven years, but left home at the age of 13 and became an emancipated minor at the age of 14. She then married at 17 and had two sons by the age of 19. She is a domestic violence survivor.

Diana dreamed of being a writer from a young age, and also tried many other things. Her family problems and instability were very difficult challenges to overcome. This led her to seek out spiritual paths that led to her conversion to Judaism, and also living in Israel for 13 months.
